Monday assignments and weekly spelling/ vocabulary:

Good Morning 4th Grade ๐ŸŒž!

-Special Announcement:

Dear Parents,
On Wednesday, April 8, I'm planning to do a one-time 4th grade books and materials pick-up at TCS from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  I'm planning to send home 2 novels, and the Eureka Math book for Modules 6&7.

Wednesday pick-up processI'll sanitize all books by wiping them down with Clorox wipes, handle them with gloves, and place them into bags - one bag for each student with their name marked on the outside.  I'll put the bags on a clean table on the sidewalk outside TCS at the bus turnaround. To pick up the materials on Wednesday, just drive up to the school bus turnaround at TCS anytime between 10 to 2, find your child's bag on the table, then grab-it-n-go.  There's no need to go inside the building or enter the office, which are both currently closed. Please note, this is not a desk clean-out for students. Personal supplies and belongings are safe in the classroom, and will be available to pick up in August.

Also, Ms. Katie has offered to include sanitized art supplies with this pickup for students who need them. If you need art supplies, please email her at woodall.katie@gmail.com as soon as possible so she can put those together for you.

If there are parents who aren't able or do not wish to come in for the pick-up, that's okay๐Ÿ‘. Just let me know, and I can email you a list and links to the 3 books to purchase online for home delivery. The total cost on Amazon for all 3 books is about $25.

As always, please email me with any questions or feedback at mbonner@taoscharterschool.org
Thanks, MB
๐ŸŒŸ(Students, please try to make sure your parents are aware of this announcement. I'm emailing out it to them this morning, but sometimes emails get missed.)

Monday assignments:
-Main Math Group: Skip Lesson 15. Watch the Module 5, Lesson 16 YouTube video๐Ÿ“บ in the links, adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominators. Then, complete the Lesson 16 Problem Set p. 85-86, and homework pages p. 87-88. The number line template on page 89 may be helpful. It may help to watch the video a second or third time if you're having trouble. The teacher on the YouTube video is using a different edition, so the page numbers may be different for you. However, the lesson itself should be the same as in your book. Don't get stuck or frustrated. If there's something you just don't get, it's ok ๐Ÿ‘Œto skip it and go on to the next item. Parents, please see the video lesson and/or the Eureka Parent Tip Sheet in the links if you need support (this is Module 5, Topic C).

-UnGroup: Spend 45 minutes moving along with the next lesson in Module 5.  Watch the Youtube video for the lesson you're working on, then complete the Problem Set and Homework pages. Check in with me, Mr. Thayer, or Ms. Chrissy  cstreit@taoscharterschool.org with any questions. Parents, please see the video lesson and/or the Eureka Parent Tip Sheet in the links if you need support (this is Module 5, Topics G and H).

-Reading๐Ÿ“š: Have you finished reading all the chapters in Everything on a Waffle? If not, finish that reading today, along with the summaries. If you have completed the whole novel and all the summaries, spend 30 minutes on Lexia Core 5 Reading. On Tuesday, we'll begin a writing activity about the novel.

-Spelling and Vocabulary list for the week of April 6, 2020:
For definitions, use the dictionary.com link and take notes ✏ on the meaning of each word. As usual, written work is due by Thursday. Please do your work on Google Docs and share it with me when you're finished. Practice typing each word five 5️⃣ times, and use each in a creative sentence that shows you know what the word means. Sentences can be funny and/or fictional. On Friday, have a parent give you a paper quiz or take a quiz on Spelling City. This week’s list is up and available to practice on Spelling City. You can also find definitions there, and even print up this week's list and definitions if you have access to a printer ๐Ÿ–จ. There are a number of students who have still not shared their written work from last week on Google Docs ๐Ÿค”. If you're one of those students, please share that work ASAP ⏳.

-Food Pics!  I'm still receiving recipe pictures from students. Keep sending them, and I'll keep posting.

Christian made amazing looking waffles for breakfast (or lunch, or dinner, or dessert?)
And Erick sent me a pic of these Cinnamon rolls from the chapter 6 recipe that look scrumptious! BTW, you guys are some top-notch bakers. If I tried making this recipe, I'm sure they would NOT come out looking as great as these. YUMMMM:
