Remember, we're using Long Division. Where it asks you to use "partial quotients" or "distributive property," just use the standard algorithm that we've been practicing the past few weeks. What's one line or image from it that stands out to you or moves you in some way? Why is it meaningful to you? Send me an email or a Hangouts text to answer those questions.  2. Check out the Poets.org link about the short history of inaugural poetry.  Questions to think about: Why do you think some presidents decide to include poets at their inaugurations and some do not? Here is a link to a kid-friendly live YouTube stream to watch that starts at 8:00 this morning. First, choose an exhibit that looks interesting to you, personally. Then, read the articles, check out the videos or audio content. Be ready to report back to the class about it to share which one you chose, and what you learned there.

This week's list is up at Vocabulary A-Z for games and practice. For this week, we are going to take a break from the written spelling/ vocabulary work in your journals. Instead, each day, I'll assign you to do 20 minutes of activities at Vocabulary A-Z. We will have a written quiz on Friday. Next week, you'll be doing the written spelling work online on Google Classroom.

Spelling and Vocabulary 1/11/21

Two wrongs do not make a right. This week's list is up at Vocabulary A-Z for games and practice. For each word on the list, your weekly written assignment is to do the following in your Spelling and Vocabulary Journal. Keep your written work as neat and organized as possible. 1. Practice writing each word on the list 5 times. Be sure to spell it correctly each time! For the weekly saying, just practice writing it twice. 2. Look up the definition of each word in a dictionary or at Spelling City. Copy the definition you find there. Words often have more than one definition in the dictionary - just write one simple, clear definition for each word. The Spanish words are already defined for you. 3. Use each word in a creative example sentence that shows you know what the word means.

For Friday:

 - Math ➕➖⨉➗ : Spend 20 minutes working on skills E6 and E10 IXL Math. Use a whiteboard or scrap paper to solve using the Long Division Algorithm you learned about today:  Divide > Multiply > Subtract > Bring Down > (repeat)... For each word on the list, your weekly written assignment is to do the following in your Spelling and Vocabulary Journal. Keep your written work as neat and organized as possible. 1. Practice writing each word on the list 5 times. Be sure to spell it correctly each time! For the weekly saying, just practice writing it twice. 2. Look up the definition of each word in a dictionary or at Spelling City. Copy the definition you find there. Words often have more than one definition in the dictionary - just write one simple, clear definition for each word. The Spanish words are already defined for you. 3. Use each word in a creative example sentence that shows you know what the word means. The sentences can be funny or fictional. Please make them interesting to read!
