-ART: Imaginary landscape (from Ms. Zoe)

Hi 4th graders! Today we will be looking outside and making an imaginary landscape. If you look at the trees and mountains outside your house, you can see that some trees are closer and bigger and some are smaller when they get far away. This is called perspective and we are going to practice this in our drawings this week. 1. First get a big piece of white paper. 2. Draw three light lines in pencil to divide the paper into three parts. 3. Draw big things in the first part of your drawing (like trees, bushes, birds, snow, houses, anything you can see.) Be as creative as possible we are creating imaginary worlds today so this can have strange creatures, castles, blue trees... Repeat the trees, buildings, animals, people in the second section of your drawing. Repeat the trees, buildings, animals, people in the third second. This makes it look like the trees/houses/animals in the distance are far away.

3. Erase the three lines so the drawing looks like one beautiful landscape. 4. Color your drawing with watercolors, colored pencils, crayons or anything you want!

This project will be due Tuesday, February 9th. I will see you all in class on Tuesday to present our drawings! Questions? Email Zoe at zelston@taoscharterschool.org

-Our Thursday online class starts at 8:30 AM. See you then! πŸ™‚
