Good Morning 4th Grade! 🌞

 -Math➕➖⨉➗ :  Spend 20 minutes practicing the starred skills at IXL Math.

(⭐Math Review Group meets at 2:00 pm Wednesday: Daniel V., Gianna, Sophia, Natalia, Colin, James, and Jackson are invited. Check your school Gmail for more info.)

-ReadingπŸ“š : Spend 30 minutes practicing reading skills on your level of Lexia Core 5.

-Spelling and Vocabulary:  Finish up the weekly written work, which is due Thursday.  Several students have said they are breaking up their weekly written spelling work in this way: Monday: 5x each practice, Tuesday: Definitions, Wednesday: Creative sentences. This is a really good way to get it all done in the 3 days! Also, spend 15-20 minutes using the games and activities at Spelling City to help you practice this week's list.

-Science πŸŒžπŸŒŽπŸ‚ :  Watch these 3 short videos about the Autumn Equinox and the change of seasons on Earth. Guiding question to think about: What causes the change of seasons on our planet?

-Art!: 🎨Ms. Katie shared an art activity for you to do to honor and welcome the Autumn Equinox.  Get creative and give it a shot - it looks really fun, and you can make it with materials that you have inside and outside the house.  If you can, take a picture of your completed work, and email it to me or Ms. Katie at kwoodall@taoscharterschool.org  We'd love to see what you made, and I'll share it with the class!



-Reminder: School pictures for 4th grade are today, Wed. 9/23/20 at Kit Carson Park at 1:00. Emails went out to parents with more information.

-Thursday's Class Meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.  Set your watches ⌚ so you won't be late!

Good Morning 4th Grade πŸŒ„! - Main Math Group ➕➖✖➗:  Finish up the Module 5 test.  Remember to  circle problems #1, #5, #7A, 7B, 7C. Those are from lessons that we skipped, and are EXTRA CREDIT items that are  optional . If you get them incorrect, they won't be counted. If you get them right, I'll give you Bonus Points.  When you complete the test, keep it somewhere safe. You'll be handing this in with your books and other materials on Thursday.  - Math Un-Group 𝝅 : Each day, spend 25 minutes working on IXL skills in 5th grade, sections A and B. - Reading  πŸ“š: Finish  filling out the Holes   Book Review Form   and answer the   3 Comprehension Questions  in Google Forms. You may use the book and your chapter titles to help. When you're satisfied that it's your   best work , submit it and I'll check your responses. Welcome to the TCS 4th Grade Blog!

Hello to all the incoming 4th grade students and parents at Taos Charter! I hope you've all have had a fantastic summer break. I really enjoyed mine too, but I'm glad to be back working in the classroom and excited to kick off another school year with this new group of kids. School starts Monday, August 17th at 8:15 AM. Fourth grade supply lists are available in the office or at the TCS website in the "For Parents" section. It's not necessary for everyone to have all the supplies on the first day. Pencils, folders, and composition books are the most important items. Until then, get outside, have some fun, and make the most of your last days of break. I'll see you bright and early on Monday! Our TCS Welcome Back Pot-Luck is Friday, August 14th from 5:30 to 7:00pm if you can make it. Thanks for taking the time to find and read our 4th grade blog!
