For Thursday and Friday:

-Spelling and Vocabulary: Written work is due Thursday via Google Docs, if you haven't already shared it. Study for the quizπŸ‘©‍πŸŽ“πŸ‘¨‍πŸŽ“. On Friday, have a parent give you a paper πŸ“quiz, or take one at Spelling City πŸ—½πŸ™

-Reading πŸ“š: Read a chapter per day in of Everything on a Waffle. That's Chapter 11 "Dinner at the Girl on the Red Swing," 🍝 for Thursday, and then chapter 12 "I Lose Another Digit," ☝️on Friday. Write ✍ a summary for each. As before, look up πŸ”Žnew words on dictionary.com and keep track πŸ›€of definitions after the summaries.

🎁Extra Credit: If you can, try making one of the recipes from the book at home πŸ‘©‍πŸ³πŸ‘¨‍🍳🍽(with your parents' permission and assistance, of course). Then, share a pic πŸ“Έof the finished dish with me πŸ₯”πŸ₯¦πŸ₯“πŸ₯‘πŸ–, and I'll post it here for the class to see πŸ‘€. Be sure to review the recipe and let us know how it came out, and most importantly - how it tasted! 🀀 (Since no one has sent one yetπŸ˜”, I'll get it started. Here's my take on "carrotsπŸ₯•πŸ₯•in an apricot glaze" from chapter 1):
They came out pretty good, but maybe a little too sweet 🍭 for my taste. Next time, I'll reduce the brown sugar to 1 tablespoon. Now, it's your turn! C'mon, try a recipe and send a picture πŸ–Ό

Wow! 😲 Sofia made these cinnamon rolls from the recipe in chapter 6.  Yummm!! πŸ‘πŸ‘
Kamila also made the Chapter 6 Cinnamon Rolls, and they came out FANTASTIC (well on the second attempt, I hear 😁):

-Lexia: Each day, spend 30 minutes on Lexia Core 5 Reading πŸ“–.

-Main Math Group: Complete one lesson per day. Watch the Module 5, Lessons 11 and 12 YouTube videosπŸ“Ί in the links. Then, complete the Lesson 11 Problem Set and homework pages (p. 53-58). On Friday, do the same for Lesson 12 (p. 59-62). Use the Lesson 12 template πŸ“on p. 63 to help. Don't get stuck or frustrated. It may help to watch the video a second or third time if you're having trouble. If there's something you just don't get, it's ok to skip it and go on to the next thing. Parents, please see the video lesson and/or the Eureka Parent Tip Sheet in the links if you need support πŸ€”(this is Module 5, Topics B and C).

-Undecomposable Math Group: Each day, watch the Module 5 YouTube videoπŸ“Ί(see the link) that goes with the lesson that you're working on. Do the problem set and homework page for that unit. Please check in with me or Mr. Thayer 🧠 via email sthayer@taoscharterschool.org or Google Hangouts and let one of us know where you are in the Module and if you have any questions πŸ’❓. Parents, please also see the video lesson and/or the Eureka Parent Tip Sheets (Topics F, G, H) in the links if you need support .

-Both Math Groups ➗➕➖✖: 30 minutes per day of IXL practice of skills in section P.   Please work in consecutive order through the skills in that section, and remember to ⭐read the explanation⭐ if you make a mistake. Un-Group can move on to skills in sections R and S.   If you don't see the starred skills, make sure you're signed in, and click the refresh πŸ”„ button at the top left toolbar in Chrome.

-Report Cards 😳😧😐🀩😁: Parents, I'll be emailing 3rd Quarter Report Cards Friday afternoon. Please let me know if you do not receive one, and I'll get it to you - not sure if I have every parent's current email address.
