 -Math➕➖⨉➗ : Complete p 199-200, #4-16 EVENS solving word problems using long division. 

-Reading 📚 :Read Chapters 12 and 13 in Drita, My Homegirl p. 55-61, and write a short chapter summary for each on your purple chapter summary sheet.

-History 🇺🇸:1. Re-read Amanda Gorman's Inaugural poem, "The Hill We Climb" that I emailed to you, and review the YouTube video of her reciting it on Wednesday. What's one line or image from it that stands out to you or moves you in some way? Why is it meaningful to you? Send me an email or a Hangouts text to answer those questions. 

2. Check out the Poets.org link about the short history of inaugural poetry.  Questions to think about: Why do you think some presidents decide to include poets at their inaugurations and some do not? What do you think the poems say about what was (or still is) important in our nation?

-Current Events: Watch this week's Nightly News Kids' Edition.

Welcome to the TCS 4th Grade Blog!

Hello to all the incoming 4th grade students and parents at Taos Charter! I hope you've all have had a fantastic summer break. I really enjoyed mine too, but I'm glad to be back working in the classroom and excited to kick off another school year with this new group of kids. School starts Monday, August 17th at 8:15 AM. Fourth grade supply lists are available in the office or at the TCS website in the "For Parents" section. It's not necessary for everyone to have all the supplies on the first day. Pencils, folders, and composition books are the most important items. Until then, get outside, have some fun, and make the most of your last days of break. I'll see you bright and early on Monday! Our TCS Welcome Back Pot-Luck is Friday, August 14th from 5:30 to 7:00pm if you can make it. Thanks for taking the time to find and read our 4th grade blog! You've found it, Mr. Bonner's Blog! This is my very first foray into this realm of communication, so check back for more soon as I start to figure it all out. It's my plan to use this space to post weekly spelling lists, math assignments, project information, announcements, and educational links.
