Dear 4th Grade Families
As you know, Mr Jones has asked 4th grade to switch to remote learning at home next week while students quarantine and get tested. At this point, we're planning to return to in-person classes on Monday, September 13.
Over the weekend, the classroom will get deep cleaned and sanitized. On Tuesday morning, I'll pack up Chromebooks, chargers, books, and materials for each student in named brown paper grocery bags, and set them outside on the sidewalk outside the Gym/ Cafeteria. Please plan to come up to school for your child's bag of materials anytime between 12:00 and 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7. Just pull up, find your son or daughter's bag, and pick it up. We can also send those bags home with siblings in other grades if it's more convenient for you. Please let me know if you'd prefer that option, and I'll deliver it to them to take home.
Students should check back here on Tuesday afternoon for independent assignments. Then, we'll have online classes on Google Meet/ Google Classroom Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Students will have independent work to complete in the afternoons. Other teachers may also arrange online sessions with 4th graders when possible during those 3 days. I'll be available on Google Meet in the afternoons to answer questions, tutor, and help kids as needed individually or in small groups. I'll send out our Meet link and more info. to students on Tuesday. It will be in their school Gmail and also in our Google Classroom in the top banner of that page. Parents, if possible, please help your child get started next Wednesday morning at 8:30 for our first online class session.
Please email me if you have any questions about next week. Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility with this whole situation. I wish you all a fun, safe, healthy Labor Day weekend. Take care, MB
