For Wednesday:
-Math: Study Links 3-4 (p. 51). Practice your X facts using flash cards, fact triangles, or websites.
-History/ Civics: Spend 15-20 minutes working on the "My Favorite Amendment" assignment. Students should write responses in full-sentence form. Neatness counts!
-Field Trip: On Thursday, October 4th , the fourth grade class will be taking a hiking field trip on the Rio Santa Barbara trail into the Pecos Wilderness near Peñasco. We’ll take about a 4 mile round trip hike up into the woods and have a picnic lunch in a large meadow near the trail. Students should be prepared for the elements and wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots, pants, and a warm layer on top as it will be chilly up there in the morning. They should also bring a small backpack with their own lunch and a water bottle or two.
If you’ve paid the $35 transportation fee, there’s no charge for this trip. If you haven't paid the fee yet, please send in $6 to help cover our bus costs.
Parents are invited to join us to help chaperone the hike. You can drive/ carpool on your own, or ride on the bus with the students. For insurance reasons, all students are required to ride the bus. We will be leaving campus at about 8:15, and we’ll return by 2:30 p.m. Permission slips went home with students today. Please fill out and sign it, and send it in to school with your son or daughter on Wednesday.
-4th Grade Basketball: Jose' Espinoza and Mani Meadowcroft are organizing our class basketball team. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00-5:00 starting on October 16. All 4th graders are welcome and encouraged to join the team! Please call one of the coaches if your child wants to play hoops. Jose': 770-7105. Mani: 770-5746.
