Thursday Hike!

-To celebrate spring and the class finishing the NMSBA, we'll be taking a hike on Thursday on the Divisadero Trail in Taos Canyon. We will be leaving campus at about 10:00, and we’ll return by 2:30 p.m. We’ll take about a 4 mile round trip hike. Students should be prepared for the elements and wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots, shorts, a hat, and a light-colored t-shirt. They should also bring a small backpack with their own lunch and a water bottle. Wear sunblock, and sunglasses if you have them. There is a transportation charge of $3 per student. Students can bring the fee into school on the day of the trip or before. Parents are invited to come along if you'd like to join us and help chaperone the hike.

-NMSBA schedule this week: Science 1 & 2 on Tuesday morning, Science 3 on Wednesday, and then that's it for state testing this year!

-Due Thursday: written spelling work.

Hello to all the incoming 4th grade students and parents at Taos Charter! I hope you've all have had a fantastic summer break. I really enjoyed mine too, but I'm glad to be back working in the classroom and excited to kick off another school year with this new group of kids. School starts Monday, August 17th at 8:15 AM. Fourth grade supply lists are available in the office or at the TCS website in the "For Parents" section. It's not necessary for everyone to have all the supplies on the first day. Pencils, folders, and composition books are the most important items. Until then, get outside, have some fun, and make the most of your last days of break. I'll see you bright and early on Monday!
