Over Winter Break:

-Reading: Read for 20 minutes or more per day. If you haven't yet hit Level 16 on Lexia, then try to keep up with your weekly 60 minutes. -Math: Your IXL account is back up online at last! Use it over break to keep your math skills sharp and to preview new material that we haven't covered yet. If you still haven't made it into the prestigious One-Minute Multipliers Club, then keep on practicing those multiplication facts using flashcards, websites, and printable worksheets. -Reminder: 4th graders ski and snowboard for FREE everyday at Sipapu! Just bring a copy of your first marking period progress report for verification. See the link or call 800-587-2240 for more info. -Thank you so much for the nice cards and gifts. I really appreciate it! I wish you and all of your families a fun, safe winter break. Feliz Navidad y Prospero Año Nuevo! I'll see you on January 5, 2015.

For Friday:

-History: Complete Steps 5, 7, and 8 on the green checklist - title page, pictures, bibliography. Please don't write who it's for on the outside. -Holiday Party: Kids are welcome to bring in a treat to share after our Secret Santa gift exchange (no candy or soda, please). -Geo Bee!: Congratulations to Lara, Cory, Augustin, Teresa, Irvin, and Grace for winning our class Geography Bee today. It was a tough competition! Those 6 winners will move ahead to compete against students from grades 5-8 in our School-Level Geo-Bee which will be held January 8th.

Final Drafts are now due on Friday , December 19 , but you may hand yours in and present on Thursday if you're ready. -Parents, please remember that there's an early dismissal on Wednesday at 11:30.

Over the weekend:

-History: Use your outline to start writing the 5 paragraph rough draft of your Revolutionary Biography Report. Follow the "hamburger" paragraph format that you studied in class, and review steps 1 and 2 of the green checklist. Try to complete a minimum of 3 good paragraphs of the rough draft this weekend. -Secret Santa: Students drew names today for the Secret Santa gift exchange which we'll have in class next Friday, December 19.
