Friday, Jan. 6 Remote Learning Activities

😁Good Morning 4th Grade 🌄, and Happy New Year 🎆!   I hope your 2023 is off to a great start.  Here are some activities for you to do for our Remote Learning Day on Friday:

-Log in to your @taoscharterschool.org account on Google on your computer or device so you have access to your saved usernames/ and passwords on Chrome. You may need to log someone out first.

-Reading 📚: Spend 45 minutes practicing skills on your level of Lexia Core 5.

-Math: Spend 30 minutes practicing the starred skills in sections E and F of IXL Math.

-Current Events 📰: Read the articles in the online issue of the latest Scholastic News, and answer the questions on the last page.   Here's a link to the online issues: https://sn4.scholastic.com/

If you are logged into Google Chrome on your school account, you should have access to SN.  If you need it, our class password is  dipfun8861

-PE 🏃🏀🏊🏂🏈🎿🎾🎯💪💓: Get outside for some exercise, and keep moving for 30 minutes or more. Get that heart rate up! Go for hike, or a bike ride, or go swimming at the Taos Youth and Family Center (open for kids' recreational swimming on Friday from 1:00 to 3:30).  Walk your dog.  Go downhill or cross-country skiing, or snowboarding, or sledding. 

-Campus Clean-up: If you and you parents can come join us, there will be a campus clean-up at TCS on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Please bring gloves, tree trimming tools, and screw guns/drills if you have them. All help is appreciated~ email jjones@taoscharterschool.org with questions about the clean-up.

-Get ready for Tuesday's Ski Program at TSV by going through the attached checklist.  Parents, if you have any extra/ used ski items on the list you could donate, please send them in on Monday and we'll pass them on to students who need them.

SKI CLUB CHECKLIST:

Ski Club begins TUESDAY, JANUARY 10 @ 7:30

Ski Pants (waterproof and warm)

Jacket (waterproof and warm)

Hat

Gloves

Goggles

Neck Gaiter

Warm socks (NOT cotton)

Base layers (NOT cotton)

Lunch and snacks, or a credit card to buy food. Cash is NOT accepted at TSV.

Water bottle

Helmets will be provided if you do not have one.

Please pick students up at 5:00 pm at school on those 5 Tuesdays. Bus fee is $35. Please send a check or cash in on Monday 1/9/23, if you haven't already done so.
