Friday Learning Activities

πŸ˜Good Morning 4th Grade πŸŒ„, and Happy New Year πŸŽ†!   I hope your 2022 is off to a great start.  Here are some activities to do for our Online Learning Day on Friday:

-Reading πŸ“š: Spend 45 minutes practicing skills on your level of Lexia Core 5.

-Current Events πŸ“°: Read the articles in the paper or online issue of our latest Scholastic News, and answer the questions on the last page.   Here's a link to the online issue if you don't have the paper one:

If you are logged into Google Chrome on your school account, you should have access to SN.  If you need it, our class password is  dipfun8861

Check out the videos and voice your opinion on this week's debate topic.

-Watch this week's Nightly News Kid's Edition here:  https://www.nbcnews.com/nightlykids

-PE πŸƒπŸ€πŸŠπŸ‚πŸˆπŸŽΏπŸŽΎπŸŽ―πŸ’ͺπŸ’“: Get outside for some exercise, and keep moving for 30 minutes or more. Get that heart rate up! Go for hike or a bike ride.  Walk your dog. Build a snowfort. Go downhill or cross-country skiing or sledding.

-Get ready for Tuesday's Ski or Swim Program by going through the attached checklist.  I have some extra goggles and gloves for kids who may need them, so don't go and buy those if you don't have them already.

-Parents,  On Monday, 4th grade is scheduled take our COVID tests at 9:30 a.mStudents may wait to come in at that time, if possible.  You may also come in earlier, but we will be outside waiting our turn so you can wait until that time.  If you come before 9:30, remember to wear a winter coat and gloves/ hat.

I also wanted to share the reminder that students will need to bring their own lunches and snacks next week: January 10-14.  The Taos School District will be having remote classes, so they will not be serving usual breakfast and lunch for our students on those days.

Please email me if I can help with anything, and I look forward to seeing you all at school Monday!  MB
