-Wednesday, October 6 is International Walk to School Day. TCS kids who want to participate can have their parents drop them off at the Taos Youth and Family Center at 7:30 a.m. Ms. Perry and I will walk with the kids up to school. Students may also ride their bikes to school on this route. Parents are welcome to join us! See the "Safe Routes to School" site in the parents' links section for more info about this initiative.

-On Thursday, Oct. 7, the class will be taking a hiking field trip into the Pecos Wilderness on the Rio Santa Barbara Trail. Parents are invited to come along and help chaperone. I'll send more information and permission slips home on Monday.

Welcome to the TCS 4th Grade Blog!

Hello to all the incoming 4th grade students and parents at Taos Charter! I hope you've all have had a fantastic summer break. I really enjoyed mine too, but I'm glad to be back working in the classroom and excited to kick off another school year with this new group of kids. School starts Monday, August 17th at 8:15 AM. Fourth grade supply lists are available in the office or at the TCS website in the "For Parents" section. It's not necessary for everyone to have all the supplies on the first day. Pencils, folders, and composition books are the most important items. Until then, get outside, have some fun, and make the most of your last days of break. I'll see you bright and early on Monday! Our TCS Welcome Back Pot-Luck is Friday, August 14th from 5:30 to 7:00pm if you can make it. Thanks for taking the time to find and read our 4th grade blog! You've found it, Mr. Bonner's Blog! This is my very first foray into this realm of communication, so check back for more soon as I start to figure it all out. It's my plan to use this space to post weekly spelling lists, math assignments, project information, announcements, and educational links.
