For Friday:

-Science: Option A students should complete all parts of their report, and be ready to present/ hand-in their final draft on Friday. Option B students should finish their rough drafts (5 paragraphs, about 3-4 pages), and ask a parent or older sibling to proofread your report and help you edit any mistakes in spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. Bring your RD's into class on Friday.

For Thursday:

-Science: Continue working on the rough draft of your science report. Option A students should complete their RD's for Thursday. Option B students should at least finish the first 2 or 3 paragraphs of their RD's.

For Tuesday and Wednesday:

-Science: Finish reading and taking notes on your science report topic. Write an outline for your report in the format that I gave you in class today. Non-skiers will write their outlines in class on Tuesday. Outlines are due on Wednesday. -Spelling: There's no spelling list this week so that students will have more time to spend working on their science reports. -Ski Club will meet in the TCS parking lot at 7:45 on Tuesday morning and return at 5:00 p.m. We need parents to help chaperone and ski with groups of 4th and 5th graders from 12:30 to about 3:30 pm if you're available. -Students who aren’t in the Ski Program will go down to the Youth and Family Center to go swimming from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Students should bring a swimsuit, towel, and $2 for pool admission.

Over the weekend:

-Science: Gather information, read, and take notes on your science report topic.

For Friday:

-Spelling: Study for the quiz. -Science: Step 5 on the green sheet (research, read, and take notes on your science report topic).

For Thursday:

-Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the practice quiz. -Science: Complete steps 2, 3, and 4 on the green sheet. Discuss your report topic with your parents to make sure it meets the three criteria mentioned in those steps.

For Wednesday:

-Math: SL 7-6 (p. 155) -Science: Start thinking about what major field of science you're interested in studying for your science report (Step 1 on the green sheet).

Over the weekend:

-There's no school on Monday, February 18 for Presidents' Day. -Ski Club will not be going to TSV on Tuesday, February 19. The final ski day will be the following Tuesday, Feb. 26. -Math: Log into IXL.com and practice adding and subtracting fractions (skills R.1 through R.8).

For Friday:

-Math: SL 7-5 -Spelling: Study for the quiz.

For Thursday:

-Math: Study Links 7-4 -Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the practice quiz. -Valentine's Day: We'll have a Valentine's party at about 2:15 in class on Thursday. Students can bring in a snack to share, and cards to exchange if they'd like to.

For Tuesday and Wednesday:

-Math: Study Links 7-3 (p. 149). -Ski Club will meet in the TCS parking lot at 7:45 on Tuesday morning and return at 5:00 p.m. We need parents to help chaperone and ski with groups of 4th and 5th graders from 12:30 to about 3:30 pm if you're available. -Students who aren’t in the Ski Program will go down to the Youth and Family Center to go swimming from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Students should bring a swimsuit, towel, and $2 for pool admission. After swimming, the class will ride the bus back to school for lunch. At 12:30, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will take the bus down to the Harwood Museum to participate in an art activity from 12:45 until about 2:15. There's no charge for this field trip. We need parents to meet us down at the Harwood to help chaperone if you're available.

TCS Basketball Tournament Continues!

Our 3rd/ 4th/ 5th grade basketball tournament continues Friday evening from 4:15 until about 8:30. Saturday is the final day of games, with our 4th grade Hawks playing at noon. The TCS 5th grade team will play at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, and our 3rd graders will take on the Alta Vista Bobcats at 1:30 in their bracket championship game. Come on out and check out the games if you can. Go Hawks!

For Friday:

-Math: SL 7-2 (p. 147) -Spelling: Study for the quiz.

For Thursday:

-Math SL 7-1 (p. 145), and deliver the Unit 7 Family Letter. -Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the Practice quiz. -Basketball: Come and cheer on the 4th grade TCS Hawks as they take on the Ranchos de Taos Rhinos at 5:45 p.m. Thursday in our Gym! Players should be there by 5:15.

-Ski Club will meet in the TCS parking lot at 7:45 on Tuesday morning and return at 5:00 p.m. We need parents to help chaperone if you're available. -Students who aren’t participating in the Ski Program will go down to the Youth and Family Center to go swimming from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Students should bring a swimsuit, towel, and $2 for pool admission. After swimming, the class will ride the bus to the southside Guadalajara Grill for lunch (about 11:45 – 12:45). Students should bring about $10 to cover the cost of their lunch. Parents are welcome to join us and help chaperone swimming and/ or lunch at the Guad if you’re available. -Reading Club will meet as usual after school on Wednesday from 3:00-3:45. - Basketball Tournament : TCS is hosting our first-ever annual basketball tournament this week for 3rd/ 4th / 5th grade teams from all the schools in the Taos area. Games start at 4:15 p.m. and go until about 8:00 in the Gym every day after school this week, and all day on Satur
