Over the weekend:

-Science: Start writing the rough draft of your report (r.d. due Tuesday). -Math: Study Links 7-1 (p. 145).

For Friday:

-Science: Finish the outline of your report. -Spelling: Take a practice spelling quiz at home this evening. Practice any that you miss.

For Thursday:

-Spelling: Written work due. Study for practice quiz. -Science: Read and take notes for your report. Bring all your notes, books, and articles into school Thursday so you'll be ready to start writing an outline.

For Wednesday:

-Science: Continue researching, gathering information, and taking notes on your science report topic.

-Math: Study Links 6-7 (p. 133) -Spelling: Study for Friday quiz. -Science: Decide on a specific topic for your research project.

For Thursday:

-Spelling written work due. -Do some reading and research about your science report general topics. Talk to your parents about it, and try to narrow it down to two specific ideas that you'd want to study in more depth.

Due Wednesday:

-Math: Study Links 6-6 (p.131) -Science: Start thinking about a general field of science that you're interested in learning more about in your next research project (biology, geology, anthropology, meteorology, astronomy, environmental science...). Once you choose a general field, I'll help you narrow it down to a topic that's more specific for you to study.

-Math: Study Links 6-5 (p.129) -Spelling: Study for quiz. -Writing: Spend 15-20 minutes starting the final draft of your friendly letter. We'll finish them in class on Friday.

For Thursday:

-Spelling: Written work due. -Writing: Friendly letter rough draft due (3 paragraphs). -Last chance for Scholastic book orders is Thursday.

Due Wednesday:

-Math: Study Links 6-4 (p. 127) -Writing: Remember to bring in a mailing address of someone that you'll be writing your friendly letter to. Also remember to bring in your own correct mailing address.

Tuesday Plan:

-On Tuesday, fourth grade non-skiers will be having an art activity in the morning, and then going over to the TYFC to go swimming in the afternoon from 1:30 to 2:20 . They’ll need to bring a swimsuit, towel and $2 for admission to the pool. I'll be chaperoning the Ski and Snowboard Program tomorrow, and Coach Van Nevel will sub in class. -In the event of a 2 hour delay, Ski Club is canceled for the day. It will be rescheduled and we'll have a regular school day, beginning at 10:15. In that case, skiers should bring swimsuits, towels, and $2, and we'll all try to go swimming at 1:30 if possible.

-Math: Long division practice - finish rows B and C. -Writing: Next week the class will be doing a friendly letter writing project. Over the weekend students should choose an out of town friend or relative that they'd like to send a letter to, and bring that person's mailing address into school on Monday. -Scholastic Book Orders will be due on Wednesday, February 11th.

For Friday:

-Math: Study Links 6-3 (p. 125), and long division practice sheet N (just that one side). -Spelling: Take a practice quiz at home since we ran out of time today in class.

Due Thursday:

-Math: Study Links 6-2 on long division word problems (p. 123). -Spelling written work due Thursday.

Tuesday Plan:

On Tuesday, fourth and fifth grade non-skiers will be going over to the Harwood Museum for a tour of the collection and an art activity. There's no charge for the museum, but students will need to bring their own sack lunches. We'll picnic at the museum.

Due Wednesday:

-Math: Study Links 6-1 (p.121). -Math: Division fact practice sheet (both sides).
