-Math: Study Links 1-5 (p.11) -Reminders: Spelling written work is due Thursday, and the final draft of your first essay is due Friday.

-The groundbreaking ceremony for the new TCS gymnasium and annual Open House will take place on Thursday, August 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. After the groundbreaking, parents can meet with their child's teacher in the classroom. Hope to see you all here!

-Spend 30-45 minutes working on the rough draft of your "One Summer Day" essay.

-Math: Study Links 1-2 (p. 5) - NMSBA Results : Parent reports from last year's set of standardized tests were sent home with your son or daughter today. Please contact me if you have any questions about the results. The score reports are yours to keep. -Reminder: The deadline for turning in all the required school documents is Friday.

-Today students are bringing home a letter that gives parents an overview of the main skill-sets that the class will be learning in our 4th grade math curriculum during the year. It also provides an introduction to Unit 1: Two Dimensional Geometry, and includes an answer key to all the homework assignments (Study Links) for parents to use to assist students at home when necessary. Starting Thursday, students can expect three math homework assignments each week from their Study Links journal.

-The first day of school flew right by today. The homework is for students to deliver the packet of school documents to their parents for mom or dad to read and fill out. The deadline on returning all the forms is August 21, and I'll be collecting them in class until then.

Hello to all the incoming 4th grade students at Taos Charter! I hope you all have had an awesome summer. I really enjoyed mine too, but I'm glad to be back in the classroom and excited to kick off another school year with this new group of kids. School starts Tuesday, August 18th at 8:15 AM. Supply lists are available in the office (and there's a basic list posted on this board below on the right.) It's not necessary for everyone to have all their supplies on the first day. Until then: bike, swim, and play to your heart's content during your last few days of break, and I'll see you bright and early on Tuesday morning! PS: TCS Open House has been tentatively set for Thursday, August 27th at 5:00 PM.
