For Friday:

-Math: SL 6-9 (p. 137) -Spelling: Study for the quiz. -Creative Writing: Finish writing the final draft of your friendly letter. Please bring in a new $0.46 stamp, a Forever Stamp, or $0.46 to pay the postage if you can. We'll address envelopes in class on Friday, so be sure to have correct mailing addresses if you haven't brought them in yet.

For Tuesday and Wednesday:

-Math: SL 6-7 (p. 133), due Wednesday. -Ski Club will meet in the TCS parking lot at 7:45 on Tuesday morning and return at 5:00 p.m. We need parents to help chaperone if you're available. Wear your warmest gear, and don't forget your goggles. The forecast calls for very cold, windy, snowy weather. -Students who aren’t participating in the Ski Program will go down to the Youth and Family Center to go swimming from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Students should bring a swimsuit, towel, and $2 for pool admission. After swimming, the class will ride the bus to the southside Guadalajara Grill for lunch (about 11:45 – 12:45). Students should bring about $10 to cover the cost of their lunch. Parents are welcome to join us and help chaperone swimming and/ or lunch at the Guad if you’re available. -In the event of a 2 hour delay, sadly, all of the above plans will be postponed to a later date, and we'll have a normal school day for all students starting at 10:15 a.m. -Reading Club wil

-Math: SL 6-6 (p. 131) -Spelling: Study for the quiz. -Parents, Re-enrollment forms for the 2013-14 school-year went home with students today. Please fill out the forms to indicate your plans for next year and return them to Mr. Bonner.

For Thursday:

-Math: SL 6-5 (p. 129) -Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the practice quiz. -Reminder: Students who are in the Ski Program who do not complete their assignments on-time will not be eligible to participate the following week.

For Tuesday and Wednesday:

-Ski Club will meet in the TCS parking lot at 7:45 on Tuesday morning and return at 5:00 p.m. We need parents to help chaperone if you're available. -Students who are not in the Ski Program will be swimming at the TYFC on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30. -Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the practice quiz. -Geo Bee: The Final and Championship Rounds of our School-Level National Geographic Bee will be held at 1:00 on Thursday in the TCS cafeteria. Parents are invited!

For Tuesday and Wednesday:

-Math: SL 6-3 (p. 125) is due Wednesday. -Ski Club: Be at school ready to load the bus at 7:45 a.m . Northside pick-up will be at the Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco at 8:10. DRESS WARM! The temperature at the Ski Valley will be extremely cold on Tuesday, no higher than 9 degrees all day! Remember to have good ski gloves or mittens, ski pants, goggles, and a neck gaiter or scarf to cover your face. Bring your own lunch or money to buy lunch at TFK's (like most ski area food, it's VERY expensive so I recommend to BYO). Parents will pick students up at TCS at 5:00 p.m. - please be on-time. Northside drop-off will be at the church in Seco at 4:15. Parents need to be there on-time or we can't drop kids off in Seco. In the event of a 2 hour delay, Ski Club will be postponed to a later date, and we'll have a regular school day. -Non skiers: We'll be swimming at the TYFC from 10:30-11:30. Over the Weekend:

-Second quarter report cards went home with students today. Parents, please take some time to discuss the grades and comments with your son or daughter. -Congratulations to Sawyer, Cully, and Max M. for advancing to the Final Round of our School-Level National Geographic Bee! Congrats also to Katie and Rafael who were tough competitors all the way through to the sixth round. They all did really well today, and I'm proud of all five of our 4th grade semi-finalists. The Final and Championship rounds will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the TCS cafeteria. Parents are invited to attend.

For Friday:

-Creative Writing: Have a parent or older sibling help you edit and revise the rough draft of your New Years Hopes essay. Write the final draft. -Spelling: Study for the Friday quiz.

For Thursday:

-Spelling: Written work is due. Study for the practice quiz. -Creative Writing: Keep thinking about ideas to include in your "New Year Hopes" essay. You'll finish writing your rough draft in class on Thursday.

For Wednesday:

-Creative Writing: Write an outline or a web to plan your "New Years Hopes" essay. -Geo Bee: Participants and alternates should be preparing for the competition using atlases, almanacs, and geography-related websites. -Reading Club will continue to meet after school on Wednesdays from 3:00-3:45.

For Tuesday:

-Math: Study Links 6-1, and deliver the Unit 6 family letter. -Reading: Finish up your Winter Break Book Review if you didn't complete it in class today. -Geo Bee: Our school-level Geography Bee will be held at 1:00 on Friday in the cafeteria. Parents are invited to attend.
